Beginners Introduction To Navigation
This short online theory course provides a basic introduction to navigation & safety for anyone who goes to sea in a boat or canoe.
It takes roughly 6 to 8 hours to complete the course but you can work through the different modules at your own pace.
It's also a good taster of the more comprehensive Day Skipper theory course.
Course fee: £115
Course Topics include:
- Charts and Publications
- Safety at sea
- Engine checks
- Tidal awareness
- Visual and electronic navigation
- Rules of the road
- Weather forecasts
- Passage planning
A bonus to doing this introductory course is the FREE plotter & set of dividers that come with the RYA course pack. It's also a great way to get a head-start on the more in-depth day skipper theory course. You have to provide your own tools for the day skipper course.
The online Essential Navigation & Seamanship course is designed to be self-study but if you do need any help you can email or call John, our award-winning Yachtmaster Instructor. A certificate is awarded on successful completion of the course.
