Venue: Morecambe & Heysham Yacht Club, then Heysham High School Pool.
The morning classroom session is a stimulating and thought provoking look at the realities of having to abandon ship to a liferaft.
Much valuable information is presented during the day, often of a quite sobering nature, yet it can be one of the most fun courses when the class transfers to a local swimming pool for the afternoon session.
The practical experience of attempting to climb into a liferaft wearing full oilskins and inflated lifejacket is a very powerful lesson.
We invite Cliff, an RYA Sea Survival Instructor from "Sea Safety", to run his course at our yacht club each year.
