Start SailingRYA Keelboat Level 1
This course is a fun, 2-day introduction to sailing. It is ideal for adult beginners who don't fancy climbing in & out of a capsized dinghy, every time they make a mistake!
We want you to experience a more civilised approach to learning to sail, staying safely in the boat at all times, with an instructor on board throughout!
There is a great sense of achievement to be had from learning how to sail upwind, downwind & across the wind for the very first time.
Learning how to be safe at sea, is also a large part of the course with us in Morecambe Bay. We will introduce you to basic tidal awarness, weather, safety equipment, ropework and the first few rules of the road.
We recommend that you consolidate this short introduction to sailing with the additional 2-day 'Basic Skills' level 2 course. You can book them one after the other or split them up if it is more convenient, but the four days of levels 1 & 2 are what the RYA recommend as the minimum to learn the basic sailing skills.
