Fun Sails are for everyone!
If you have ever wondered what it is like to catch the wind in the sails and be at one with the elements as the boat glides through the water, this is your chance.
As a complete novice, a Fun Sail is a great way to give sailing a try. Or, if you already know the basics, come and practise your skills in the tidal waters of Morecambe Bay, knowing that there is a fully qualified skipper onboard to keep you safe, while you have fun on the water.
'Lily' our 22ft. keelboat (non B&B) is ideal for adults. She is much more stable than a dinghy, with a roomy cockpit (place where you sit). We generally restrict the numbers to 3 or 4, allowing plenty of individual tuition from the onboard instructor.
Unlike a dinghy, Lily doesn't capsize when you don't quite get it right! She is very user friendly. You stay in this boat at all times. The struggle of peeling yourself in & out of a wetsuit is avoided with keelboat sailing. However, for safety reasons you must wear one of our automatically inflatable lifejackets and we can also provide good quality outer waterproofs if you need them. A small tender (ferry boat) will take you from the shore to Lily-it's all part of the fun.
If you enjoy this trial Fun Sail and want to do more sailing, we can teach you how to do things safely right from the start. Keelboat Levels 1 & 2 are for beginners. Each level is a two day RYA course, so four days in total to get the basics under your belt.
If you've already done some sailing and want to know where you fit in with the RYA National Sailing Scheme or Cruising Scheme, book a Fun Sail. After sailing with you, we will then be able to provide individual advice on the next step towards your goal.

Sailing is from April to September. Alternative dates may become available, particularly for a group of three or more. Please get in touch if you cannot find a suitable date to book. If you book and pay online your place is immediately guaranteed.
