Day SailingRYA Advanced Module
This is a great course to take when you are thinking of starting to cruise beyond your local sailing area. It assumes that you are now competent to at least level 2 and introduces you to the necessary planning considerations, basic navigation and meteorological awareness to make a successful and enjoyable trip.
Practical Topics: Preparing and equipping a boat for cruising, including safety and navigation equipment, clothing and food. Stowing gear, planning pilotage/navigation, collision avoidance and improvising in the event of gear failure.
Sailing Theory and Background: Sailing in strong winds, navigation, use of GPS, position fixing, tidal heights and streams, decision making in adverse conditions, basic first aid knowledge and meteorology.
